Greg Peterson Talk At Changing Hands (7:00PM - 9:00PM)

In 2001, longtime Phoenix resident and Edible Phoenix contributor Greg Peterson, host of the TV show Smart Spaces: Inside & Out, created a revolutionary concept called the Urban Farm. His real-world holistic home features an edible farm and yard, rainwater and greywater harvesting (household wastewater, excluding toilet wastes), solar applications and recycled building materials. The Urban Farm not only awakens the possibility to reconnect with the earth and agriculture in simple, practical ways, but it also nourishes the promise of a future that will sustain life for years to come. Using the Urban Farm as a jumping-off point, Peterson will explain what it means to live green and how to incorporate green living into your own home.

Book Signing - Elizabeth Yarnell's Glorious One-Pot Meals (7:00PM - 8:00PM)

By layering foods in a cast-iron Dutch oven and briefly flash cooking at high heat, Elizabeth Yarnell's patented "infusion cooking" creates delicious and nutritious meals filled with vegetables and lean protein that are never soggy or stew-like. Tonight Yarnell presents her book Glorious One-Pot Meals: A Revolutionary New Quick and Healthy Approach to Dutch-Oven Cooking. She offers classic recipes like All-American Pot Roast, Chicken Cacciatore and Eggplant Parmesan, and savory specialties like Indian Red Curry Chicken with Rice or Sweet and Spicy Tofu. Most importantly, each of the recipes in Glorious One-Pot Meals is a balance between health, taste and nutrition. During the booksigning, our friends at Plate It Up!, the West Valley's premier Gourmet Cookware Store, will offer coupon discounts for your own Dutch oven!
